Simply Complicated (by Jimmy Buffett)

I'm starting to realize that my blogs are getting pretty rediculously long. I know that if I were checking someone else's blog (with a few exceptions) and they were as long as mine are, I'd probably keep putting it off until I realized I stopped reading them. So, in the interest of those who actually check this page out, I'm going to make a conscious effort to keep these things a little shorter and sweeter. I always did have trouble knowing when I stop talking!

Come on Jeff, we all love when you talk too much. It's like a childhood bedtime story. Puts us right to sleep.
I'M KIDDING!
Know that I read your blog entries regularly, as I am sure most of us do. But, we are learning through you. Think of it as us waiting, holding our breath for what you write next. It's not that we are ignoring you. By the way, your entry about "Your Boats" was like poetry. May God continue to bless you in your journey.

oh, come now, it only took me 4min and 41seconds to read the last adventure. Wich is way shorter than most blogs but much more interesting and fun to read.
Its like being there with you in your journey. And thats a blessing.

I love to read your blogs and find them really interesting! And it's not just because I'm the Mom!
Thanks for keeping us informed on all that you are up to.
You are constantly in our prayers and conversation. Dad even mentioned you today in the class he's teaching at Fuller.
Love,
Mom

Hey there buddy!
I was listening to my iPod this morning, and came across a song by India Arie that I had never listened to before. (I had the CD, but rarely listened to it.) I couldn't help but think of you when I heard the lyrics! And, you being such a "Music Guy", I knew you would appreciate it. The simplicity and honesty in this song moved me.
I hope you are still having a fantastic time Jeff! Miss ya back here.

"God Is Real" - India Arie

Sweetest honey to the brightest flower the largest plant
Into the smallest atom, snow flakes in the bird kingdom,
Smaller than the eye can see,
Bigger than the mind can concieve. (oh)
Heard a man on the radio today,
Must confess I disagreed with what he had to say.

How can he not believe that God is real,
I don't understand how he could feel that way. When
There's earth air water and fire.
So many different flowers, sunshine and rainshower,
So many differnt crystals and hills and volcanos.

That's how I know that God is real
(all of this is not by chance)
That's how I know that God is real
(all of this is not by chance)
That's how I know that God is real
(I know this is not by chance)
That's how I know that God is real
That's how I know that God is real.

In Saint Lucia, I jumped in the water.
For the first time I understood its power.
As I swam, I was cleansed.
If I had any doubts, this experience cleared them.

Now I know for sure that God is real.
I know that it's the truth by the way it feels (uh-huh)
Cause I saw starfish and sponges,
Fish and black trumpets,
So many different colors I stayed
Out there for hours and I only saw a fraction of a fraction,
Of the deep of the deep,
Of the great blue wide.
It Brought a tear to my eye.

We're made of the same stuff as the moon and stars.
The ocean's salt water just like my tears are.
You feel me the sun rises and sets everyday without fail

That's how I know that God is real
(all of this is not by chance),
That's how I know that God is real
(all of this is not by chance),
That's how I know that God is real
(all of this is not by chance),
That's how I know that God is real

Earth, air, water, and fire
Earth, air, water, and fire
Earth, air, water, and fire
That's how i know that God is real

Jeff, I am lovin' your blogs too! Don't skip the details...I was totally sucked in to your story about your day in Singapore, especially at the marina. And the story of the people on the island who were awaiting your group's return...it created such a longing in me. I don't even know exactly what it's about. Living God's adventure? Experiencing the unfamiliar? Being free...holding nothing back? God is using your experience and your words to affect us back here in the U.S. too! Thank you.

p.s. I'm praying for your tan. =)

Hi Jeff!

Your blog is wonderful, write til you're finished with what you have to say!

We missed you at Easter, especially, :-) and pray God continues to do great things through you on your side of the planet.

Your mom let us know about your blog, and we read it faithfully. Your pictures are truly amazing. We're all enjoying them - my parents, too.

Keep writing...

Your mom provided your blog address and have checked in a couple of times but haven't seen an update. Did you lose access? Are you back home? I would love to hear about your latest adventure...even if it is a long entry.
