That's What Living Is To Me (by Jimmy Buffett)

My supervisor, Mark, shared Proverbs 16:9 with me when he found out I was going on these trips. This verse struck my heart and I decided I wanted to make it my cornerstone verse for this chapater of my life. As I was reading it, I came across one other part of the same chapter that I wanted to add to it. So, please familiarize yourself with Proverbs 16:3 & 9 and, if you wouldn't mind, encourage me to remember these verses in my heart as I embark on my travels to the far side of the world:
Proverbs 16:3 (NIV)
Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.
Proverbs 16:9 (NIV)
In his heart a man plans his course, but the LORD determines his steps.

Feel free to throw more verses my way if you think of any that are particularly appropriate. To get things started, I'll go ahead and thank my mom for supplying me with the encouraging verse the last time I was at that end of the globe:
Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV)
For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

So, whatcha got for me?! :)

Jeff - You will teach me with your thoughts on your journey.... Ruth and I just returned from Italy and France and here's something that God told me.....

The Bible today, was alive in the 14th century, the 12th century and all the way back to the beginning of time. What He helped me realize is that the very same stories that I grew up with and am telling others about today, are the very same stories that He gave to the Italians and French that made the Cathedrals that we admire for their beauty and stunning inspirational art of today.

As you discover the PLANS that God has for you... and the STEPS that He will place under your feet... remember that God is the same today as HE has been through all eternity. He is LOVE and ABBA and strength for all that He asks you to do. God Bless You in your journey, Jeff.

Watching you from the Near Side of the World......

"Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Delight yourself in the LORD and He will give you the desires of your heart."
~Psalm 37:3-4

"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can they preach unless they are sent? As it is written, How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"
~Romans 10:14-15

Jeff--these are two verses that have had a significant impact on my life. I hope that they encourage you as they did me. If you follow where God is leading you and obey, He will bless you and give you the desires of your heart. Good luck as you seek to discover what God's will for you is and apply that to your life!
